Happy Birthday Peak District National Park!
It's our birthday!
This April we’re celebrating the 70th birthday of the Peak District National Park. The Peak District was the first of the UK’s 15 National Parks to be designated on 17th April 1951.
Our charity was registered to mark this important milestone, with 70kfor70 as our first campaign.
We’re delighted to have raised over £130,000 smashing our £70,000 target and supporting projects across the park including moorland restoration, conservation work at Stanage North Lees and on the Trails.
We’ve kitted out junior rangers, supported access improvements with Miles Without Stiles and supported projects which make the Park more accessible.
But this is just the beginning, we will continue working with partners across the park to raise funds and support to achieve our vision of a National Park that is enjoyed and conserved by everyone.
