Building a firm Foundation for the Peak District National Park

More than 13 million people visit the Peak District National Park every year but the costs of protecting and conserving this very special landscape is inevitably on the rise, especially in an era of climate change. So a new charity has been created, the Peak District National Park Foundation, with the aim of raising money to fund activities right across the 555 square miles, from repairing stiles and footpaths to tackling damage to moorlands and restoring habitats. Fittingly the Foundation has been set up on the 70thanniversary of the legislation that led to the creation of our national parks.

We’re passionate about keeping the spirit of access and enjoyment of our National Parks alive and while we reflect on 70 years of National Parks we’re also looking to the future with our newly established charity. The Peak District National Park Foundation, set up to raise funds to care for the Peak District National Park for everyone forever.

With your help, we will raise £70,000 for a range of high impact projects that care for the stunning landscapes, wildlife and cultural heritage of the Peak District and enable more people to enjoy our National Park.

We want our National Park to be in a better condition for future generations to enjoy.
