Big thanks to caring Co-op customers

Generous customers at Baslow’s Co-op store have raised £950 for the Foundation.

We were one of the beneficiaries this year of the Co-op’s membership scheme.

For every £1 spent on the Co-op’s own brand products, members receive 2p back – while a further 2p is donated to their chosen cause.

Store manager Jim Cockerill said the Foundation was a popular charity among members. “A lot of our customers are very concerned about the environment and climate change,” he explained. “Sustainability and helping to look after the Peak District countryside is close to people’s hearts.”

Foundation trustee Andrew McCloy added: “We’d like to say a big thank you to the customers and staff of Baslow Co-op. The Foundation is delighted to receive this support, which helps us to fund local projects for the benefit of people, nature and climate.”

Since the Co-op scheme started in 2016, £117 million has been raised for community organisations and local causes.
